Doug Robertson

Doug is a senior corporate and commercial lawyer with nearly 40 years experience advising a broad range of Australian and international clients , including public and private companies and trusts. During his career he has been a corporate/commercial law partner at a number of Australia’s major law firms (including Freehills, Baker & McKenzie and Gadens) as well as an Executive Director and legal team leader for corporate and commercial law at EY Australia. Doug joined Peer Legal in 2020 as a Consulting Principal and a member of its Advisory Board.
During his career Doug has focused on building long term relationships with his clients. This has helped to enhance transaction efficiencies, retain corporate memory and foster a proactive team approach in identifying and solving legal issues in a timely manner. This approach has been particularly effective for SME’s and developing businesses which are resource poor as well as for larger corporates with complex businesses.
